How does Nieuw-West compare to more central districts?
You trade canal-side buzz for space, calm and budget headroom: typically a third more apartment for the same money, plus the Sloterplas instead of a crowded park. The centre is 15–20 minutes away by train or tram, so the trade is smaller than the map suggests.
Is there a rent reduction?
Yes, two. Agree a four-month initial period and your monthly rent is 10% lower for the whole tenancy. Tenancies starting between 1 November and 28 February have a 10% lower monthly rent for the whole tenancy. Both apply together when you qualify for both.
