The Space
The living area sits at the front of the apartment and holds a sofa, coffee table, a 42-inch television and a dining table with four chairs. The open kitchen is fitted with an oven, hob, fridge-freezer, coffee machine, kettle and a full set of utensils and cookware. The bathroom is positioned in the middle of the apartment and has a shower, washbasin, washing machine and dryer. The bedroom is at the rear, away from the street, and is furnished with a queen-size bed, bedside table, chest of drawers and a hanging rail for clothes. Furnishings throughout are IKEA. The apartment is ready to live in from day one — bring a suitcase and nothing more.
Neighborhood
Warmoesstraat is one of Amsterdam's oldest streets, running parallel to the Damrak between Amsterdam Centraal and Dam Square. It is a lively, busy street with cafés, bars and small shops at street level; the bedroom faces the rear of the building and is noticeably quieter than the front. Amsterdam Centraal is a five-minute walk, giving direct national and international rail connections and metro line 52 to Zuid and the Noord/Zuidlijn corridor. Trams from Dam Square run west and south across the city, and Nieuwmarkt metro station is a short walk east. Schiphol Airport is roughly 15 minutes by direct train from Centraal. The Nine Streets, Nieuwmarkt, Chinatown and the main museum quarter are all within walking or short cycling distance.
